- What is the difference between Make Payments and Pay Bills?
The Make Payments tab lets you send payments electronically via ACH or Wire transfer. In order to send funds electronically, you must have the recipient’s account and routing number.
Pay Bills allows you to send payments to anyone you would typically pay by check. Some payments are sent by paper through the mail and may take up to 4 business days to arrive; other payments are sent electronically and arrive within 2 business days.
With ACH and Wire payments, you can precisely time when your payments will reach their recipient. If you send Online Bill Payments through Pay Bills, the receipt of your payment is dependent upon whether or not the payee is part of the electronic clearing network. Many larger companies, such as insurance agencies, credit card companies, and some utility companies will receive payment within 2 business days; however, smaller companies or organizations will typically receive a paper payment.
- Can I transfer funds between companies?
When you link secondary companies to your Key Business Online profile, you are able to transfer funds between any company within your KBO profile from Transfer Funds within the Payments & Transfers tab.
